These give bright colored light, featuring several color selections: a rainbow mode, where the lights fade (mix) between several colors, six single-color modes, a mode where it just steps through the colors without fading, and off. You select the mode by simply pressing the button on the included control box. One strip is plenty of light for under a single cabinet. It's a great deal for the price.

There are a couple things to know about this product, though. First, the "white" light has an aqua tinge to it. It's not really warm or cool white. Second, and more important: When powered on, it will be in the rainbow fading mode, no matter what setting you had it on when you last turned the power off. This lack of setting memory makes it hard to use for under-cabinet applications, where most of the time you just want it to turn on as white.

Some technical details not in the description: The power supply is a wall-type, lightweight (no transformer) 120 VAC input supply with 12 VDC 1.0 A output, terminating in a standard DC connector (5.5 mm O.D., 2.1 mm I.D., center positive). This plugs into a control box that converts it to a 4-pin, 0.1 inch (2.54 mm) pitch connector (pins are R, G, B, -, so you need to make sure to get the connector plugged in the right way), which plugs into the LED strip. The control box has a single external button. Inside, it has a custom microcontroller (probably not reprogrammable) and transistor drive circuits for each color. The 4-pin connector has the - pin mislabeled as "12 V". No significant heat is generated in the box.

The strip is flexible, contains 9 RGB common-cathode LEDs, and can be cut at the 1/3 or 2/3 points (though it would be hard to reuse the cut parts, since they lack connectors). Current-limiting resistors are built into the strip; just feed it 12 V at about 50 mA per color per strip and you're good to go.

These are easy to install and bright.
